Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event

I was thrilled with both how Annie Clover and Watermill Vision went at Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, it was an amazing experience and both horses put in super performances.

Annie Clover, owned by my parents, Mary and Barry Tweddle was her consistent self in all three phases, producing another top 10 finish with a lovely test and a double clear to finish 8th, gaining her Rio Olympic qualification and having had a good experience of flying this also bodes well for next year.

I understand there is a very long way to go and a lot more to do but it is a lovely position to have one horse qualified for Rio and of course there is the European Eventing Championships at Blair Castle later this year, which would be fantastic to represent Team GBR at.

Watermill Vision, owned by James and Jo Lambert performed extremely well in the dressage phase and although he set off a little inexperienced at the beginning (this being his first four-star) he grew in confidence as he went around the course. He was a shade unlucky early on the cross-country course to incur 20 penalties, but overall he gave me a great ride and his two fences down in the show-jumping was just a lack of experience at CCI**** level and the atmosphere that surrounds the last day. He will have certainly come of age for the experience and I am very excited about him.

I would like to thank Lynn Swift, my fabulous head girl for as always looking after our special horses so beautifully, the owners of Annie Clover and Watermill Vision and also to UK Sport for funding the trip to America with our two horses.
